MUMBAI: A woman who had trespassed into actor Salman Khan’s building in Bandra was mistaken security personnel for a resident of the building.A police officer said that the confident walk and appearance of the woman, Isha Chhabria (32), a junior artiste, gave security personnel the impression that she was a resident of the building.The woman has claimed that she had met the actor at a party some time ago.Security at the actor’s home was beefed up after threats to him.The woman allegedly reached the first floor of Galaxy Apartment, Bandra (west), bypassing security personnel at the entrance at 3am on Wednesday. She was arrested from her Khar residence on Thursday. The woman knocked on the door to the actor’s house with the intention of meeting him, the police said.After a day in police custody, she had sought bail in Bandra court. On Friday, she was sent to judicial custody.During questioning, the woman told the police about her decade-long struggle in the film industry. “She claims she entered the building in the early hours, hoping there would be fewer people around. She told the security personnel that she had been invited by the actor for a meeting at that time,” an officer from Bandra police station said.Authorities said she has no crime record, and she only wanted to meet the actor who, they said, was not at home at the time. While a police probe has begun into the security breach incident at the actor’s home, joint commissioner of police (Law & Order) Satyanarayan Chaudharidenied reports of any police officers being suspended for the same.
