JAC Class 8 Result 2025:The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has officially declared the results of the Class VIII Annual Board Examination 2025 today, May 20, 2025. This year’s results reflect a consistent and commendable performance by students across the state, with an overall pass percentage of 94.39%.The examinations covered a wide range of subjects including Paper-I (Hindi, English) and Paper-II (Mathematics, Science, Social Science).Out of 518,023 students enrolled, 499,972 appeared for the examination, while 18,051 were absent. A total of 471,937 students passed the exam, while 42,202 secured marginal marks and 2,606 had incomplete results. The results show a marginal increase in performance from the previous year, which saw an overall pass percentage of 94.16%.District-wise performance shows consistent trendsAmong the top performing districts in terms of enrolment and results were Ranchi with 35,828 students enrolled and Dhanbad with 32,713. Giridih reported the highest enrolment at 47,082, out of which 45,599 appeared, and 43,356 passed. Dhanbad saw 30,139 students pass, while Deoghar and East Singhbhum recorded 24,110 and 22,510 passes respectively.Sahebganj had a notably high number of students with marginal scores at 1,542, while Giridih and Pakur followed closely with 2,225 and 1,408 students respectively. The number of absentees ranged significantly, with Dhanbad reporting 1,008, and Sahebganj recording 1,115. Districts such as Khunti and Lohardaga had relatively lower enrolments and absentee numbers.Girls outshine boys in overall performanceOut of the total enrolment, 264,646 were female students, 253,338 were male, and 39 identified as transgender. Of these, 257,234 female students appeared and 243,071 passed, achieving a pass percentage of 94.49%—an improvement over last year’s 94.37%.Male students recorded a pass percentage of 94.29%, with 242,700 appearing and 228,831 passing. This too marks an increase from 93.03% in 2024. Transgender candidates also performed well, with 38 appearing, 35 passing, and a pass percentage of 92.11%, slightly higher than last year’s 91.96%.

Principals of schools affiliated with the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) can access the Class VIII 2025 Annual Board Examination results through the official portal. A total of 178,226 students earned an A grade, while 131,805 scored in the B range. The highest grade, A+, was awarded to 46,951 students, with female students slightly ahead in this category.The C and D grades were also significant, with 127,070 students in grade C and 16,074 in grade D. There were 17,897 absentees in this paper, predominantly among male students.Paper-II highlights strong middle-grade performanceIn Paper-II (Mathematics, Science, Social Science), most students scored between grades B and C. The C grade was the most awarded, with 147,741 students falling into this category, followed by 130,160 in the B grade.The A+ grade was secured by 25,078 students, showing parity between male and female performances. Grade A was achieved by 181,868 students, while 15,208 fell in the D category. The number of absentees in Paper-II stood at 17,968, slightly higher than in Paper-I.Council praises overall achievementJAC officials have expressed satisfaction over the performance, stating that the consistent improvement in results reflects the effectiveness of academic reforms and school-level monitoring. The Council also noted the reduced gender gap in results and emphasised the need to focus on reducing absenteeism and marginal scores through remedial strategies.The detailed mark sheets are now available online on the official JAC website, and schools have been instructed to provide physical copies to students in the coming days. Further instructions regarding re-evaluation and supplementary exams, if applicable, will be issued shortly by the Council.
