HYDERABAD: An IT assistant of Telangana Raj Bhavan was arrested twice in the last five days. The first arrest was for morphing photos of a female colleague on May 12, and the latest arrest was on May 16 for stealing the hard disc containing the morphed photos from Raj Bhavan. Currently, the accused is in judicial remand. On May 10, Punjagutta police registered a case under sections 75 BNS and 65 IT Act based on the complaint of a 29-year-old woman employee of Raj Bhavan. She alleged that unknown persons created morphed obscene photos with her face and shared them with a colleague, T Srinivas, a Household Attender working as an IT Assistant.Srinivas was the one who informed the complainant about the morphed photos and showed her the images on his cell phone. At her request, he shared the IP address of the morphed image sender, and the complainant shared the same with Punjagutta police.“After the investigation, we identified Srinivas, 45, as the creator of the morphed images and arrested him on May 12 and sent him to remand. On examination, the computer was showing a different login account, and its hard disk was replaced with another hard disk. We verified the CCTV footage of the ground floor and first floor of the Sudarma Building in Raj Bhavan and found that T Srinivas had come to the office wearing a helmet at 10.11 pm on May 14, during non-working hours. He was suspended at 8.10 pm on the same day on certain allegations. The stolen hard disc has confidential data of licensed software, office files, and office network user IDs, passwords, and Information Technology-related inspection reports of the office,” Rakesh said in his complaint. On his complaint, police registered a case under sections 305(a), 316(5), 331(4) of BNS on the night of May 15. “The accused was arrested on the same day.
