Berhampur: Police on Monday arrested three persons, including an autorickshaw driver, for allegedly raping a 22-year-old woman after kidnapping her in Kandhamal district. Police did not disclose the names of the accused as the investigation was still ongoing. A test identification (TI) parade would be conducted soon as part of the investigation, cops said.Police said the survivor, an orphan brought up in a child care home, had gone for some personal work on May 11. The auto driver offered to drop her at her village. Instead of taking her to her village, he forcibly took her to a house and confined her there.The auto driver along with his two friends allegedly raped her multiple times there until May 16. The next day, the survivor escaped, as the accused forgot to lock the door. On the same day, she lodged an FIR.“We have registered a rape case and arrested all three accused involved in the heinous crime,” said SDPO Ramendra Prasad.The auto used to abduct the woman was also seized, police said.Inspector Sambit Kumar Swain said medical tests of the survivor and the accused were conducted.
