Two arrested for robbing Cameroon man in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Kodigehalli police Tuesday arrested two persons on charges of robbing a Cameroon national who was in India for medical treatment. Cops recovered Rs 86,000 in cash along with the victim’s passport and other documents.The accused are Rizwan Pasha, 23, an autorickshaw driver, and Kruthik Preetham, 24, who works at a mobile store.Police said the 35-year-old victim, who arrived in India on a medical visa for prostate cancer treatment and was staying in a rented house in Bhadrappa Layout, was targeted on the morning of April 27. While near a supermarket on Outer Ring Road, two scooter-borne men threatened him at knifepoint. Although he tried to flee, the duo caught him and robbed his bag containing more than Rs 1.1 lakh in cash, his passport and medical documents.Police apprehended the suspects near Govindapura Circle the next day. A senior officer said they were found in a lodge with women. The two-wheeler used in the crime was found parked near Manyata Tech Park and seized.Both have been remanded in judicial custody.
