CBSE Class 12: At 99.7%, T pips all states in pass percentage | Hyderabad News

Visakhapatnam: Vijayawada region, comprising Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, emerged as the top-performing region in India in both CBSE Class 10 and 12 results, which were declared on Tuesday.In Class 10, Vijayawada region shared the top spot with Thiruvananthapuram, achieving an impressive pass percentage of 99.79%.These were followed closely by Bengaluru with 98.9% and Chennai at 98.71%. The Vijayawada region’s performance is several notches above the national average of 93.66%.Similarly, the Vijayawada region excelled in Class 12 with the highest pass percentage of 99.6% – a slight increase from the previous year’s 99.04%. It was followed closely by Thiruvananthapuram (99.32%), Chennai (97.39%), and Bengaluru (95.95%). Again, the Vijayawada region recorded a pass percentage almost 10 points above the national average, as the overall pass percentage for CBSE Class 12 across India stands at 88.39%. In Class 12, Telangana achieved the highest state-wise pass percentage nationally at 99.73%.In Class 10, Telangana outperformed AP with a 99.85% pass rate. Andhra Pradesh recorded a pass percentage of 99.73%. In Telangana, girls outperformed boys with pass percentages of 99.9% and 99.83% in Class 10 and 12 respectively. This trend was similar across the country, with girls achieving a pass percentage of 95.00% compared to boys’ 92.63%.In Class 12, too, Telangana outperformed AP with an overall pass percentage of 99.73%, with boys at 99.66% and girls again leading with 99.8%., Andhra Pradesh recorded an overall pass percentage of 99.5%, with boys achieving 99.45% and girls slightly outperforming them at 99.58%. Southern states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, continue to dominate the top rankings.In Class 10, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) have achieved outstanding results nationally, with pass percentages of 99.49% and 99.45% respectively. Independent schools also performed well with a pass percentage of 94.17%. Govt and govt-aided schools have posted a lower pass percentages compared to the autonomous institutions. A significant number of students across all categories scored above 90% (199,944) and above 95% (45,516) nationally.Even in Class 12, JNVs and KVs have shown excellent results nationally, with pass percentages of 99.29% and 99.05% respectively. Independent schools also performed well with a pass percentage of 87.94%. A significant number of students across all categories scored above 90% (1,11,544) and above 95% (24,867) nationally.The Vijayawada region was formed in 2023. In 2024, the region secured a pass percentage of 99.6%, achieving the second rank in terms of pass percentage among all CBSE regions in Class 10. The region also exhibited excellent results in the CBSE Class 12 examinations in 2024, recording a pass percentage of 99.04% and again holding the second rank nationally, surpassed only by the Thiruvananthapuram region.
