Woman, husband arrested for grandmother’s murder | Bhubaneswar News
Keonjhar: Keonjhar Town police arrested a couple on Wednesday for allegedly murdering a 70-year-old woman following a domestic dispute in Gamharia village’s Munda Sahi. The deceased, Birma Munda, was allegedly assaulted by her granddaughter Gangi Munda (30) and her husband Chhotu Munda (30) on Tuesday night. Police sources said the elderly woman sustained fatal injuries after being pushed during an argument that escalated due to sudden provocation. “The incident came to light when villagers discovered the body on Wednesday morning and alerted police,” said Srikant Sahu, IIC, Keonjhar Town police station. The police team, along with experts from the district scientific laboratory (DSL), Keonjhar, visited the crime scene to collect evidence. “The post-mortem examination has been completed, and the body has been handed over to the family members after completing necessary legal formalities,” Sahu added.
