‘Ajaz Khan’s phone is switched off’: Mumbai Police say actor untraceable after rape FIR | Mumbai News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: Mumbai Police have been unable to reach actor Ajaz Khan as his mobile phone has remained switched off since the FIR was lodged at Charkop Police Station, following a woman’s complaint accusing him of rape.
The Mumbai Police confirmed that Ajaz Khan has remained unreachable since the FIR was registered against him for allegedly raping an actress. When the police visited his location, he was absent.
“Case registered at Charkop Police Station against actor Ajaz Khan for allegedly raping an actress. Police tried to contact him after registering the FIR, but his number has been switched off since then. He is not in contact with the Police. The Police reached him, but he was not present there. Police are searching for him,” said Mumbai Police.
The actor is currently embroiled in another legal matter concerning the Ullu app‘s programme, ‘House Arrest‘, which he presents. The Amboli Police have summoned both Khan and the Ullu app’s proprietor following accusations of broadcasting inappropriate content.
The authorities have requested Khan and the platform owner to present themselves before the investigating officer to record their statements. The controversy escalated after an alleged video segment from the programme circulated on social media, triggering public displeasure.
The programme, which commenced streaming on April 11, 2025, has faced significant criticism from political and social organisations, with numerous groups labelling it indecent and requesting governmental intervention.
House Arrest features 12 participants–nine women and three men–who reside in a luxury villa whilst completing various challenges, presenting itself as an unfiltered version of shows like Bigg Boss and Lock Upp.
