Spotted deer dies after stray dog attack | Bhubaneswar News

Jharsuguda : A spotted deer allegedly injured in an attack by stray dogs in Jharsuguda district’s Durlaga village on Friday, succumbed after being rescued by forest officials.
Sources said villagers discovered the injured deer early morning and confined it within the village before alerting the forest department.
Jharsuguda divisional forest officer, Manu Ashok Bhat, said, “Upon receiving information, a rescue team reached the spot and shifted the injured spotted deer to the district veterinary hospital around 9:30 am for immediate medical attention. The deer had suffered significant blood loss. It succumbed to injuries at 10:30 am. An inquiry has been initiated to verify the villagers’ account that the deer was attacked by stray dogs and also where the deer came from.”
