Mumbai: Two of the three all-India toppers in ISC who have scored a perfect 100% this year —Aarav Bardhan and Ishmit Kaur—are from Mahim’s Bombay Scottish School. The third topper is from Kolkata. ISC results were announced on Wednesday by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
Most city schools have recorded better Class 12 results this year, said principals. Data from the council shows an 88% rise in the number of students scoring 95% and above in the results nationally compared with the previous year. There is also a significant rise in students scoring between 90% and 95% in the exams.

Maharashtra’s overall performance has improved marginally with almost every student clearing it. The state’s success rate is slightly higher than nationally. Schools said students have done well across subjects including physics, math and even English, with many scoring 100 in the language.
Sunita George, principal of Bombay Scottish School, said ISC results are definitely better than the previous year in their school. The question papers were more analytical this time, had more multiple-choice questions, and the paper pattern was slightly different, but the students have done better, she said. “Students, in fact, have done significantly better in ISC than in ICSE in our school. In ISC we have about 63% of the batch securing 90% and above compared with the previous year and in ICSE, the numbers are almost similar to 2024,” she said.
Sonali Gandhi, principal of Jamnabai Narsee School, said the students have bettered their performance in this year’s exams despite the shift in the paper pattern. “The council has made a conscious move in making education more relevant and promoting understanding and application-based questions in the exams and it is not about rote learning anymore,” said Gandhi, adding that students have done better in all subjects and they have cent per cent scorers in many subjects, which are usually considered difficult, including physics, chemistry and English.
In Maharashtra, 3,723 students from 77 schools appeared for the Class 12 exams under the CISCE. In ISC, the southern region has performed significantly better than other regions, followed by the western zone.
The performance of girls is marginally better than that of boys in the state even in ISC.
