Gaya: Union micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) minister and Hindustani Awaam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) founder, Jitan Ram Manjhi, who arrived here on Friday morning from New Delhi, reiterated his claim of putting his best efforts for development of amenities for tourists visiting twin cities of Gaya and Bodh Gaya.
Talking to media persons here, Manjhi said, “I have already brought to the notice of PM Narendra Modi what is required for the development of Gaya.I had raised the issues of airport, Falgu river and Vishnupad temple during the election rally addressed by the PM at Gandhi Maidan on April 16 also. I will put best efforts to start cargo service from Gaya airport, connect Falgu river in Gaya with rivers like Sone to ensure availability of water in it throughout the year.” He also said that initiatives will be taken to give facelift to historical Gandhi Maidan for benefit of morning walkers and augmenting facilities for the pilgrims visiting Gaya to perform pinddaan.
Pointing towards misappropriation of funds worth crores of rupees in the name of beautification of Gandhi Maidan, he said that ‘zero tolerance’ will be maintained against corruption in the implementation of development projects.
Commenting on law and order issue raised by the opposition, Manjhi said, “The way government in Bihar functioned before 2005, RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav have no right to talk about law and order. Things have changed and now action is being taken after any occurrence.”
