Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy Monday said there should be a national debate on ‘Operation Kagar‘ in Chhattisgarh and made it clear that his govt would announce its stand only after the Congress high command declares its policy decision on the issue.
Responding to speculation about his rapport with party’s top leadership, Revanth said, “I have a good relationship with Rahul Gandhi. There is no ‘gap’ as some people are propagating, and there is no need to prove it.”

Reacting to former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s criticism at the BRS silver jubilee public meeting at Elkaturthy in Warangal district on Sunday, Revanth said KCR had poured out his ‘frustration’ and that “there was no content” in his entire speech.
He dismissed KCR’s claims that there was anger against the Congress govt among the public, stating that such performance-related issues arise only six months before elections.
Drawing a parallel between KCR and PM Modi, he said, “Both change their tunes according to the situation. What the country needs now is a strong PM like Indira Gandhi.”
Speaking informally with reporters after meeting senior Congress leaders K Jana Reddy and K Keshava Rao, Revanth admitted that while several new schemes have been launched by his govt, the party was lagging in effectively communicating them to the public. “We are streamlining some schemes. Many have already been grounded, and others are in the early stages,” he said. . The CM reportedly discussed the ‘Operation Kagar’ issue with the two senior leaders.
On KCR’s jibe that the Congress govt couldn’t even face ‘junior’ BRS MLAs, Revanth shot back: “Why did he send juniors? He himself should have come to the assembly and participated in debates.”
Revanth also reiterated his long-term political commitment, asserting, “I will be in politics for the next 20 years. Our MLAs must go to the people and take our programmes to the village level. They must be patient for political opportunities.” “Once I give a commitment, I stand by it. I assured our leader Addanki Dayakar an MLC seat, and I kept my word.”
On allegations by KCR that BRS leaders and workers were being arrested illegally, the CM clarified: “There were requests to act against BRS leaders facing allegations. Our govt is pursuing the cases legally. We bear no animosity towards anyone.”
Revanth also pointed out that several officers who held key positions during the previous regime still continue in the same posts. “We cannot transfer everyone at once. The mistakes committed by the previous govt would be known only to these officers,” he added.
