An employee recently found themselves blushing after unintentionally ending a client call with a “I love you.” They prepared themselves for the awkward mistake of tongue, which they were completely unaware of. But instead of discomfort or irritation, they received something entirely unexpected.
Sharing the moment on Reddit’s MadeMeSmile, the employee posted a snapshot of a follow-up email from the client. Rather than being confused or annoyed, the client responded with compassion and empathy.
“It speaks volumes that you can say those words so instinctively, without hesitation,” the client wrote. “I am glad you have enough love in your life that that response comes naturally. If anything, you should be proud of that.”
This reply instantly lifted the employee’s spirit. The post quickly went viral, earning over 1,11,000 likes and hundreds of warm, thoughtful comments. Many users praised the client’s emotional intelligence and kindness, and called the response a perfect example of humanity in the workplace.
