Thane: Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday visited the homes of three people from Dombivli who were killed by terrorists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, to meet their families. He told them that the govt would extend all possible help to the families of the three deceased. Shinde said that be it their children’s education or jobs, they would get the full govt’s support.
Earlier in the day, UBT neta Vinayak Raut also met these families. He demanded the people who died in terror attacks be given a martyr status besides govt jobs to their family members. He alsocalled for raising the compensation from Rs 5 lakh to a higher amount.
In response, Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Shrikant Shinde stated that in the all-party meeting after the Kashmir terror attack, he suggested to home minister Amit Shah that since most of the people who were killed were breadwinners, their families should be given a pension.
