IPL 2025: Traffic advisory issued for MI vs LSG clash at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium today; check details here | Mumbai News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants, scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Wankhede Stadium.
The match will commence at 3.30pm, and a significant increase in vehicular and pedestrian movement is anticipated in the surrounding areas.
To facilitate smooth traffic flow and ensure public convenience, temporary traffic regulations and parking restrictions will be enforced between 12pm and 11.55pm on match day, under Temporary Notification No. 553/DCP/SOUTH/TEMP/T/2025 dated March 28, 2025.
As per the directive issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Traffic, Pradnya Jedge, the following measures will be implemented:
Traffic restrictions
Motorists are advised to avoid the Wankhede Stadium vicinity during the specified period. As parking facilities at the stadium are unavailable, all spectators are strongly encouraged to use public transportation, particularly the suburban railway network.
- Veer Nariman Road (from Churchgate Junction to Sundarmahal Junction) will be closed to vehicular traffic as necessary.
Alternative routes
Commuters are requested to utilize the following alternate routes:
- From Churchgate Junction, proceed via Maharshi Karve Road to Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House), turn left towards Vinoli Chowpatty, and continue to the desired destination.
- Alternatively, travel from Ramdev Potdar Junction (C.T.O) via Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (O.C.S) to M.G. Road, through Shyamaldas Junction, and across Meghdut Bridge (Princess Street) to reach the destination.
Parking restrictions
Parking will be strictly prohibited in the following areas:
- “C” Road (North side) – from N.S. Road junction to “E” Road junction
- “D” Road – from N.S. Road junction to “E” Road junction
- “E” Road – from “D” Road junction to “C” Road junction
- “F” Road – from N.S. Road junction to “E Cross Road” junction
- “G” Road (South side) – from N.S. Road junction to “E Cross Road” junction
- “E Cross Road” – from “F” Road junction to “G” Road junction
- N.S. Road (Northbound and Southbound) – from Mafatlal Bath Signal to Air India Junction
- Veer Nariman Road (both directions) – from Churchgate Junction to Sundarmahal Junction
Vehicles found violating these restrictions will be towed, and e-challans will be issued to the offenders.
Instructions for spectators arriving from railway stations
From Churchgate railway station:
- Spectators holding tickets for Gate Nos. 01, 02, and 07 should disembark at Churchgate Station and proceed on foot towards ‘D’ Road.
- Spectators using Maharshi Karve Road should utilize the foot overbridge near Pratishta Bhavan to reach Gate No. 05.
- Those proceeding via Anandilal Potdar Junction on Maharshi Karve Road should use the foot overbridge towards ‘E’ Road, then continue to Gate Nos. 04 and 05 through Mumbai Vidyapith Stadium Gate via Patan Jain Mandal Road.
From Marine Lines railway station:
- Spectators holding tickets for Gate Nos. 04 and 05A should disembark at Marine Lines Station and walk towards ‘F’ Road.
- Those with tickets for Gate Nos. 04 and 05 should also access the stadium through Mumbai Vidyapith Stadium Gate via Patan Jain Mandal Road.
Entry instructions for Wankhede Stadium
- Ticket holders for Gate No. 03 should alight at Churchgate Station and walk along the N.S. Road footpath.
- All visitors arriving via N.S. Road (Marine Drive) are instructed to use the designated pavements and refrain from walking on the main carriageway.
- Private vehicles must drop passengers only at the designated drop-off points along N.S. Road.
- U-turns on N.S. Road will be prohibited from two hours before the start of the match until two hours after its conclusion. Motorists may make U-turns at Murali Deora Chowk and Mafatlal Junction during this period.
This advisory is part of a broader traffic management plan implemented for the 2025 IPL season for all Mumbai Indians home matches. Similar measures will be adopted for upcoming fixtures against teams including Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, and Lucknow Super Giants.
