Ghatkopar hoarding collapse probe panel gets a month’s extension

Mumbai: The home department has extended by a month the tenure of the Justice Dilip Bhosale commission probing the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse.
While the hoarding collapsed on My 13, 2024, leaving 16 persons dead, Justice Bhosale, a former chief justice of the Allahabad high court was appointed to probe the causes of the collapse on June 10, 2024.

It was expected that the commission would complete the probe within six months, but it was delayed since the terms of reference could not be finalized within the stipulated period.
Now, as per an order issued on April 25, the tenure of the commission has been extended till May 30, 2025. It has been stated that the process of drafting the report is at the final stage and it is possible to submit the report by May 30, 2025.
