Mumbai: According to a press release from the chief minister’s office, nearly 500 tourists have returned over the last two days. “Two special flights organised by the state govt arrived with 184 passengers, and another special flight for 232 passengers is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday),” said the press release. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde‘s office also put out a statement saying his team has brought back 520 tourists on four flights, two of Star Airlines and two Akasa Air. Shinde has returned from Kashmir and left for Sindhudurg by a chartered flight in the evening.
CM Devendra Fadnavis has set up a three-tier system involving Mantralaya, the Chief Minister’s Office, and a special cell at Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi to facilitate the return of tourists. A special flight from Kashmir on Friday will bring back tourists from Akola and Amravati. The state is covering all costs.tnn
