Rlys to start station work in KBK

Bhubaneswar: Indian Railways launched a comprehensive redevelopment initiative under the Amrit Station Scheme across the KBK (Kalahandi-Balangir-Koraput) districts of Odisha. Thirteen stations, including Balangir, Titlagarh, and Koraput, will undergo major upgrades worth over Rs 275 crore.
The railways allocated Rs 18 crore for development of Balangir station, Rs 35.79 crore for Titlagarh, Rs 33.87 crore for Kantabanji, Rs 16.66 crore for Harishankar Road, Rs 20.85 crore for Kesinga station, Rs 18.83 crore for Bhawanipatna, Rs 20.16 crore for Muniguda station, Rs 21.2 crore for Koraput, Rs 17.94 crore for Jeypore, Rs 14.46 crore for Damanjodi, Rs 16.25 crore for Khariar Road, and Rs 41.4 crore for Rayagada station.
The modernisation includes new station buildings, foot overbridges, improved platforms, and enhanced passenger amenities. Key features comprise high-speed Wi-Fi, digital information boards, and eco-friendly facilities. Work commenced at several locations, with completion expected in phases over the next two years, said the East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources.
