Kendrikela Pollution: Sarpanch plea to national rights panel on Kendrikela pollution | Bhubaneswar News



Rourkela: The sarpanch of Kendrikela panchayat in Bonai block of Sundargarh district has written to National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), raising concerns about the sponge iron units around the panchayat which are polluting the environment and causing kidney ailments, tuberculosis and respiratory diseases among the villagers. The sarpanch Ugresan Kisan wrote to the NHRC on May 27.
“We will do an inspection soon in the sponge iron units at Bonai area and if they are found violating the norms and generating pollution, stringent action will be taken against those units,” Anup Mallick, regional officer, state pollution control board, Rourkela, said.TNN
