Teen ends life by consuming poison in Sundargarh | Bhubaneswar News
Rourkela: A 13-year-old girl allegedly ended her life by consuming poison in Sundargarh district on Thursday.
The girl was found unconscious at her sister’s in-laws’ house on Thursday morning. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared her dead.
According to police sources, the girl, a Class VII dropout, had been staying with her sister in Birmitrapur for the past five months. She divided her time between her sister’s house and other relatives’ homes in the area. Her mother resides under Brahmani Tarang police station limits.
“We have collected viscera samples which will be sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory to determine the exact cause of death,” said R P Nag, inspector in-charge, Birmitrapur police station. “Further action will be taken based on the forensic and post-mortem reports,” he added.
The victim’s mother filed an FIR at Birmitrapur police station on Friday. Following the post-mortem, the body was handed over to her family. Police have registered it as an unnatural death case and are investigating all angles.
