Man killed over land dispute in Deonar – The Times of India

Mumbai: A petty dispute over a piece of land in Deonar led to the murder of a 58-year-old man on Thursday. Deonar police have booked Ramzan Shaikh, Musa Sayyed, and his father, Hashim Sayyed. The deceased was identified as Salim Shaikh, a resident of Indira Nagar in Govandi.
According to police, the deceased owned a piece of land near the railway tracks in Govandi. Recently, Ramzan Shaikh, who has a criminal record, tried to stake his claim, which led to frequent fights between the two. On Wednesday, Shaikh attempted to construct on Salim’s plot. When Salim learned of this, he, along with his son Mohammed, went to the plot and tried to stop him.
Ramzan, who was accompanied by Musa and Hashim, engaged in an argument that resulted in a physical fight. Musa and Hashim held Salim’s hands while Ramzan assaulted Salim on his chest, causing Salim to fall unconscious. He was rushed to Shatabdi Hospital, where he was declared dead.
