Private bank staffer found hanging; kin suspect foul play | Bhubaneswar News

Kendrapada: A 24-year-old private bank employee was found hanging in her rented accommodation at Mangalpur village in Jajpur district on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Madhusmita Saha from Bishnupur village in Keonjhar district.
The houseowner and locals broke into her room upon discovering her hanging from a ceiling fan and rushed her to the Mangalpur community health centre, where doctors pronounced her dead on Friday.
Madhusmita’s mother, Umamani Saha, has filed an FIR alleging murder, claiming that her daughter’s death was made to look like a suicide. “We believe she was killed, and the scene was manipulated to look like she took her own life,” said the grieving mother.
Inspector in-charge of Mangalpur police station, Jagadish Kar, told reporters that no suicide note was found at the scene. “The body has been sent to the district headquarters hospital in Jajpur for post-mortem. Exact cause of death will be determined after we receive the autopsy report,” he said.
Police have launched an investigation based on the FIR filed by the family.
