Dindoshi Police in Mumbai are searching for a suspect who drove his car in the wrong direction and rammed into Sub-Inspector Sankhe during a nakabandi in Goregaon East

MUMBAI: Dindoshi Police are searching for a motorist who rammed his car into a policeman while driving in the wrong direction in Goregaon East. The injured officer, Sub-Inspector Sankhe, is in stable condition.
A nakabandi was set up between 11.00 pm on March 18 and the early hours of March 19 near Lucky Restaurant on a bridge in Goregaon East.
Between 1.30 am and 2.00 am, police spotted a car moving in the wrong direction and signalled the driver to stop.
However, the motorist attempted to flee, ramming into Sub-Inspector Sankhe in the process. The officer received medical treatment and is recovering.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and its registration number.
An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.
