Bizman held in hoarding collapse case granted bail | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Mumbai: A sessions court on Thursday granted bail to Arshad Khan, a businessman who was accused of receiving Rs 46 lakh from Ego Media Pvt Ltd, the company at the centre of the hoarding collapse tragedy that claimed 17 lives.
Arshad had been absconding since his name cropped up last July and his anticipatory bail was rejected. He was arrested in Dec.
A detailed order copy is yet to be made available. Seeking bail, advocate Sana Raees Khan had submitted that the allegation against Arshad is that he facilitated permission of construction of the hoarding that collapsed. “But no railway or MCGM authority has been impeded as accused…link of evidence is not established and this shows that the applicant is a scapegoat in this entire botched up investigation,” the advocate said.
The tragic incident on May 13, 2024, where a giant 120×140 hoarding on owned by Ego Media collapsed due to strong winds, claimed lives of at least 17 and injured over 70. TNN
