Agri loan waivers, oil palm support in focus | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The govt has allocated 24,339 crore to the agriculture sector in the state budget, with 18,000 crore being earmarked for the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
The budget document highlights that a comprehensive ground-level survey was conducted, verified through village meetings, to identify non-cultivable lands and prevent fund misallocation.
Under the Indiramma Aathmiya Bharosa scheme – a key welfare initiative — each farm labourer’s family will receive 12,000 annually, providing crucial financial stability during difficult times.
“Standing by our commitment to farmers’ welfare, our govt has waived farm loans up to 2 lakh. So far, 20,616 crore worth of loans have been cleared, benefiting 25.3 lakh farmers,” finance minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated.
To further support farmers, the govt is actively promoting oil palm cultivation by offering incentive subsidies. In response to the adverse impact of customs duty exemptions on imported oil palm, Telangana successfully lobbied the Centre to impose duties, ensuring fair pricing for domestic producers. “With this move, oil palm farmers now receive an additional 2,000 per tonne, making cultivation more profitable and sustainable,” the minister added.
