Hyderabad: Three class 10 students of a govt school have been held for allegedly sexually assaulting and harassing a classmate. The case came to light after the girl confided in her parents, who filed a complaint with Gachibowli police a week ago.
Police registered a case against the boys under various sections of BNS and Pocso Act and detained them on Saturday. While one boy had sexually assaulted her, the other two were harassing her, police said. All three have been sent to a juvenile home. The girl was sent for medical examination and counselling at a Bharosa centre. The parents of all the four work in a central govt institution.
According to the complaint, the harassment began in Nov 2024 when one boy started blackmailing her with her morphed pictures and videos. He subsequently sexually assaulted her.
The second boy, also a classmate, started harassing the girl by showing the video he had recorded on his mobile phone during the assault by the first boy. He also demanded sexual favours from the survivor, police said.
After the girl broke the boy’s mobile phone, the third boy got to know about the sexual assault and the video clip. Subsequently, he also started harassing her, police said.
As the harassment from the three boys increased, the girl told her parents recently who later lodged the complaint with Gachibowli police.
Gachibowli station house officer (SHO) Mohd Habubullah Khan said that case was under investigation.
