BJP announces three candidates for Maharashtra legislative council bypolls | Mumbai News – The Times of India

MUMBAI: The BJP central leadership has announced three candidates for the Maharashtra legislative council bypoll elections.
The names were cleared by the party’s Central Election Committee.
Five seats fell vacant after its council members were elected to the lower house in the assembly elections held in November.
The three candidates are Sandip Joshi, Sanjay Kenekar and Dadarao Keche. The elections will be held on March 27 and counting will be on the same day.
Those who were elected to the assembly include
Amashya Padvi, Pravin Datke, Rajesh Vitekar, Ramesh Karad and Gopichand Padalkar.
Two seats have been left for its allies the Eknath Shinde Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP. Given its strength in the assembly all BJP candidates are likely to be elected unopposed.
