UN should ensure the rights and development of minorities in developing countries: Dr. Faizan Azizi | Mumbai News – The Times of India

MUMBAI: At the United Nations’ annual meeting in September 2024, all countries unanimously approved the proposal to implement the 2030 UN Agenda, especially sustainable development global mission at all levels. Subsequently, the UN invited its members and approved organizations to its headquarters in New York to discuss implementation of its 2030 agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind.
Problems faced in implementing the UN agenda and strengthening the cooperation process were discussed at the meeting. Dr. Faizan Azizi from Mumbai, who is the Chief Representative at the United Nations and president of Human Social Care Foundation, presented his report on the present situation and the problems arising from it and future improvements.
Azizi specifically said that, due to narrow-mindedness in the government of developing countries, the rights of minorities are being destroyed and their development is being cruelly neglected. These areas are being kept away from the UN schemes and if anyone raises his voice against the injustice and injustice of the government, then he is harassed in many ways. The United Nations should take note of such concerns and ask countries to respond to the protection and development of minorities.
“The growing illegal wars in the world, including violations of international war and human rights laws, especially the destruction of Gaza and the countries supporting it, must be taken up by the United Nations.Otherwise the security of the world and humanity will be in danger. Privatization of education and health sectors is reducing the access of common and poor people,” he said.
Apart from this, a detailed report on social, economic, environmental, employment and equality etc. was also presented, in the preparation of which advice was taken from people associated with social, economic, legal and educational fields, In this, Dr. Balachandra Mungerkar, former member of the Indian Planning Commission and former Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, Prof. Hanif Lakdawala were included on thebpanel which advised in preparation of the report. This meeting was presided over by Mr. Bob Royer, President of UN ECOSOC.
Apart from this, important responsible people of the United Nations were also present in this meeting, with whom Dr. Faizan Azizi had a direct conversation, on which everyone, especially the representatives of Saudi Arabia and China, explained the seriousness of the issue.
