Virar murder case solved, husband of victim held | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Vasai: The Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar Crime Branch Unit 3 has solved the mystery behind the decomposed skull found in a suitcase in Virar on Thursday night (Feb 13). They have arrested Harish Hippargi, 49, who allegedly killed his wife Utpalla Hippargi, 51, on Jan 8, around 3 am, after they had a heated argument. After killing her, he took her body to Virar east in a sack and chopped off her head before dumping the headless body in a nullah near the railway track. Later, he took the head and dumped it at a secluded spot at Virar phata, to confuse the cops.
The couple had constant arguments, and on Jan 8 in a fit of rage, Harish killed his wife, said senior police inspector Shahuraj Ranaware. Sources said that both of them worked in a bar in Mumbai where they fell in love and got married. For the last few years, they were running an imitation jewellery business.
