MUMBAI: City-based YAMA Patel Foundation, in association with World Memon Organisation (WMO) held a Ramzan ration kits’ distribution programme on Thursday.
The Foundation’s president and Mahim Samaritan Haji Mudassar Patel, joined by Anjuman-I-Islam president Padmashree Dr Zahir Kazi, NCP leader Mushtaq Antulay, former chairman of Maharashtra Minority Commission Haji Arafat Shaikh and WMO (India chapter) president Haseen Aghadi, the event saw hundreds of underprivileged receiving the ration kits at Anjuman-I-Islam Dr Ishaq Jamkhanawala Girls High School at Bandra West.
“Who am I to give anyone ration? It is Allah who gives I am a mere link. Most of the beneficiaries are poor parents of the school and the poor deserve good, nutritious food in the night during Ramzan,” said Patel who started holding Ramzan ration kits’ distribution six years ago.
Dr Kazi lauded the efforts of Patel and said this Bandra school is one of the leading Urdu schools in the city. “This is the holy month and Mudassar Patel has made commendable job by reaching out to the poor with ration kits in this blessed month. May this effort bring blessings for all of us,” he said.
Arafat Shaikh prayed that those who took this help may become able to give to the needy. “Today you are needy and you deserve this help. May you become givers of this help tomorrow,” he said.
Antulay appreciated Patel’s works and also admired the fact that Shaikh prayed to Allah on behalf of everyone present there.
Aghadi said that the bounties of the creator are boundless and it is because of divine blessings that he could do something. “My humble contribution may get accepted by Allah. Mudassar Patel really makes great efforts to collect and organise the ration distribution,” he said.
