Hard-working leaders, loyalists will get key positions: Meenakshi | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: AICC in charge of Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan has reiterated that hard-working leaders in the party will be given opportunities. Also, long-time loyalists will be considered for key positions.
She has decided to classify the party leaders into three categories. First category includes party loyalists, who have been in Congress since the beginning of their political life, with at least 10 years as a benchmark. The second category consists of those who joined the party before the assembly and Lok Sabha elections. The third category includes all those who joined after Congress came to power in Telangana.
This classification is being done, according to sources close to her, to give top priority to the first category of leaders in assigning posts in the new TPCC team, district Congress president, and other posts in the party. It also includes nominated posts in the corporations and the govt, followed by the other two ranks depending on the political strategies and to further strengthen the party ahead of the panchayat elections.
A decision to this effect was taken by her after the party leaders, during her ongoing review meetings with them parliamentary-constituency wise, expressed their sufferings of carrying the party flag high despite cases filed against them during the previous 10-year BRS regime, but not getting any posts 14 months after the party came to power. She directed the TPCC president to ensure that a list of all three categories was prepared and submitted to her at the earliest.
On allegations and counter-allegations from party leaders, old and new in the Congress, she said it was her responsibility to find out who were genuine workers and their contributions to the party and its victory in the assembly polls. She has been telling party leaders and workers, during her review meetings, to allocate more time for the party and warned them against discussing the party’s internal matters in the media.
TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, addressing a meeting of the party’s frontal organisation leaders on Wednesday, said though many of them were bestowed with nominated posts of chairpersons of various corporations in recognition of their hard work during assembly elections, the performance of many of them in the new posts was far from satisfactory. “Counter effectively the opposition’s false campaign against the Congress govt, chief minister, ministers, and the party,” he said.
Meenakshi assured that opportunities would be provided to every hard-working leader in the party. “It is not enough to have photos on banners, cutouts, and flexis, but what is important is to be among the people, attend to their problems, and create a place in their hearts. Social justice will be followed. The successful conduct of the caste census and SC sub-classification needs to be taken to the doorsteps of the voters more effectively, she added.
