Hyderabad: An Indian woman in her 40s flying from Bangkok was arrested, and 5.4 crore worth of hydroponic ganja was seized from her possession upon her arrival at the RGI Airport on Wednesday. The woman concealed the drug in her check-in baggage, said customs officials.
According to officials, based on specific intelligence, a woman passenger coming from Bangkok was intercepted at the green channel of the International Arrival Hall. Upon questioning her and examining her belongings, they found hydroponic weed weighing 5.43 kg, valued at around 5.4 crore, concealed in a check-in bag. The passenger was arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
Further investigation is in progress to determine if she was merely a mule or part of a larger network. Officials are also probing the network operated from abroad. An official added that this was the third seizure of hydroponic weed at RGIA Airport in 2025 so far.
