‘Multiple scams under Eknath Shinde’: Aaditya Thackeray demands deputy CM’s dismissal | Mumbai News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday accused Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde of being involved in multiple scams and demanded his dismissal.
“Several scams have taken place through Eknath Shinde. The chief minister should dismiss him because he was involved in the MMRDA scam, BMC scam, road scam…” Thackeray alleged while speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Maharashtra Legislature’s budget session.
The budget session, which began on Monday and will conclude on March 26, is expected to focus on key issues, including the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute, investments, and welfare schemes.
In his address, the Governor reiterated the state’s commitment to resolving the border dispute and stated that expert advocates have been appointed to represent Maharashtra in the Supreme Court. He also emphasized welfare measures for Marathi-speaking people in border areas, particularly in education and healthcare.
Highlighting Maharashtra’s position as an industrial leader, the Governor noted that the state contributes over 14% of India’s total GDP and remains a top destination for foreign direct investment.
“At the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2025, the Maharashtra government signed MoUs worth over Rs 15.72 lakh crore with 63 national and international companies, creating over 15 lakh job opportunities,” he said.
He added that the state plans to disburse Rs 5,000 crore in investment promotion subsidies and allot approximately 3,500 acres of industrial land through the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation to encourage industrial growth.
The State Budget for 2025-26 will be presented by finance minister Ajit Pawar on March 10. The Legislative Assembly will also work on March 8, despite it being a public holiday.
