Mumbai: Animal activist Nisha Subramanian Kunju wins the AWBI Jeev Daya Award | Mumbai News – The Times of India

MUMBAI: Animal welfare and environment conservation activist Nisha Subramanian Kunju from Mumbai received the Animal Welfare Board of India‘s Jeev Daya Award in the Individual Category at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Nisha Kunju is also the founder of Amma Care Foundation (ACF), Plant & Animals Welfare Society – Mumbai (PAWS-Mumbai), and International Representative of Maharashtra State for the International Organization for Animal Protection.
“For nearly three decades, Kunju was doing animal welfare, which includes rescuing wild animals and birds, and also the vaccination of stray dogs and cats in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and other regions. We are happy for this award,” said a PAWS-Mumbai member.
She also actively participated in tree plantations in the city, which truly needs more green cover.
Another Mumbai-based student, Aadi Shah, also received the award in this category at the function.
