Army families light up Happy Streets finale with music & dance

Hyderabad: The final edition of Happy Streets in Banjara Hills witnessed an overwhelming response as over 150 families from the Indian Army joined the early morning celebrations on Sunday. The event, which began at 6:30 am, transformed the bustling streets into a vibrant, car-free zone filled with music, dance, and community activities.
Adding to the significance of the gathering, proud spouses of Indian Army soldiers from the Basantar Brigade of the Bison Division kickstarted their Women’s Day celebrations at the event. The army band captivated the crowd with an orchestra performance of classic Hindi songs, even taking live requests from the enthusiastic audience.
“It’s heart-warming to see the military and civilian communities come together in such a joyful way,” shared an army officer’s spouse. “The energy here is incredible, and it’s wonderful to see our families enjoying themselves in this safe, festive environment.”
The morning began with soothing meditation and yoga sessions by Bodhi School of Yoga, followed by an invigorating Zumba session led by instructor Shailaja Puri. One of the day’s highlights was a series of lively flash mobs performed by students from St Mary’s College, Yousufguda, and Badruka College, earning loud cheers from the crowd.
“Happy Streets is an amazing platform for us to step out of the cantonments and enjoy as a community,” said Tripti from Mehdipatnam. “The atmosphere is electric, and this was the perfect way to start our Sunday.”
