3 of family killed in hit-and-run accident | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: In a case of hit-and-run, three people, including a couple, were run over by an unidentified vehicle on the Hyderabad-Mumbai National Highway at Budhera in Sangareddy district on Tuesday night. The vehicle hit the bike on which the victims were riding, killing them on the spot, police said.
A hunt is on for the vehicle, suspected to be a truck, involved in the accident. The deceased were identified as P Lakshmi, 52, her son P Ravi, 30, and his wife P Shoba Rani, 27. The couple is survived by two children.
According to police, the deceased, belonging to Antaram village, worked as daily labourers. On Tuesday night, they were going to a dhaba for work, but en route, they were run over by the vehicle on the highway at Budhera village.
Due to the impact of the collision, the three were thrown off the bike and landed near the barricades on the central median, suffering multiple injuries and dying on the spot. Alerted by passersby, Munipally station house officer M Rajesh Naik along with his team, rushed to the spot.
“Teams have been formed to trace the vehicle involved in the accident. We are also verifying CCTVs in the surroundings for any clues,” Naik said, adding that their bodies were handed over to their family members after a post-mortem examination.
