Ex-corporator demands relief from CC road works | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Mumbai: Former Colaba corporator Makrand Narwekar has written to BMC over inconvenience being faced by residents in his area due to the ongoing Cement Concrete (CC) road works.
“The current state of the dug-up roads is causing distress and disruption. Key roads, including 1st Pasta Lane and Windy Hall Lane, among others taken up for CC road works, have remained incomplete for months, rendering them nearly impassable and causing immense hardship to residents,” said Narwekar. He has asked the civic administration to complete or restore the roads dug up for CC works by Feb 27 or else, the citizens, along with him, will hold a dharna on the same roads, pushing for the demand and seeking relief from the dug-up roads, said Narwekar.
Narwekar also alleged that executive engineers have the authority to fine the contractor up to Rs 50,000 for negligence in executing the CC road works, but the penalties imposed on the contractor have been minimal. tnn

Such neglect only deepens the frustration of residents,” said Narwekar.
