3 killed in hit-run accident on Hyderabad-Mumbai National Highway | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: In a hit-and-run accident, three people were killed on the Hyderabad-Mumbai National Highway in Sangareddy district on Tuesday night.
An unidentified vehicle hit the bike the victims were riding, killing them on the spot, police said.
A hunt is on for the vehicle, suspected to be a truck, involved in the accident. The deceased have been identified as P. Lakshmi, 52, her son P Ravi, 30 and his wife P Shoba Rani, 27. The couple is survived by two children.
According to the police, the deceased, who belonged to Antaram village, worked as daily wage laborers. On Tuesday night, they were on their way to a dhaba for work when the accident occurred near Budhera village on the highway.
Due to the impact, the trio were thrown off the bike and landed near the barricades on the central median, suffering multiple injuries and dying on the spot. Alerted by passersby, Munipally Station House Officer M. Rajesh Naik and his team rushed to the scene and started an investigation.
“Teams have been formed to trace the vehicle involved in the accident. We are also verifying CCTV footage in the area for any clues,” said Naik, adding that the bodies were handed over to their family members after a post-mortem examination.
