SSL holds national seminar on e-commerce | Chennai News – The Times of India

CHENNAI: A national seminar on the complexities of GST in the e-commerce sector was held at the Saveetha School of Law (SSL) on Monday.
Titled Decoding the Impact of GST on E-Commerce: Challenges and Opportunities, the seminar featured guest speakers from the e-commerce sector.
D Soundrarajapandian, former joint commissioner, commercial taxes department, Tamil Nadu, shared his expertise on GST, its implementation challenges, and the impact on e-commerce businesses. It was followed by a Q&A session with students.
Taxation expert and advocate Sreemannaarayana Mallela spoke about tax litigation and compliance in the digital economy.
A Suganthini, assistant professor, school of law, VISTAS, in her speech, focused on the legal framework surrounding GST and international trade laws and shed light on how taxation policies impact global e-commerce markets. She also explained tax regulations and their evolving role in the digital era. She was felicitated by Frederick Ruby Helen, assistant professor, SSL.
