Hyderabad: The family members of eight workers trapped inside the SLBC tunnel have appealed to the Telangana govt for their safe return. Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren, in a post on X, urged his Telangana counterpart to provide all possible assistance in the rescue operation and save the lives of trapped people belonging to Jharkhand and a few other states.
In Ranchi, Radhika Kumari, daughter of Santosh Sahu, who is one of the eight trapped inside the tunnel accident site, expressed deep concern over her father’s safety. “My father went to work in Telangana two years ago. We were told that he is trapped inside the tunnel. We are extremely worried. My mother offered prayers in a nearby temple to pray for his safe return. I appeal to the Jharkhand and Telangana govts to bring my father back safely,” she said.
Another trapped worker, Santosh Sahu’s sister-in-law, Prema Devi, said they received the news over the phone on Saturday evening and urged the govt to rescue all eight as soon as possible.
Family members of trapped workers and engineers said they did not sleep since they received the information and have been praying to God for their safe return. Most of the family members said they would not allow them to go back and work in the tunnel again.
