Retired Justice Ramasubramanian against division in all forms at ‘Unity India’ launch in Chennai | Chennai News – The Times of India

CHENNAI: Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission and retired Supreme Court Judge V Ramasubramanian on Saturday said division, not just in the name of religion but in the name of everything, should be opposed.
Justice Ramasubramanian launched ‘Unity India‘, a national forum for the protection of communal amity in India, at a function in Chennai.Speaking at the event, he said, “In Tamil Nadu, there is a problem that voices that speak for unity do not speak about the division. They oppose the division in the name of religion but not in the name of language and race. Division in the name of anything is to be condemned.”
Justice Ramasubramanian said in today’s world “money is God and there are no non-believers. It is because we don’t see the person who gives it. We are becoming more religious and not spiritual.” He released the vision statement of ‘Unity India’, which envisions an India in which all the communities such as Hindus and Muslims embrace their diverse traditions as threads of the same vibrant fabric.
Earlier, retired Justice P N Prakash said Sanatana Dharma is different from Hindutva. “I am a person who follows Sanatana Dharma because people practising Sanatana Dharma do not see divisions among people. Hindutva, however, is a political ideology and it is different from Sanatana Dharma,” Prakash said.
‘Unity India’ core committee member A Faizur Rahman said there is remarkable unity in society among Hindus and Muslims. He said Triple Talaq was against the Quran and was present only in Sharia law.
