Koraput: In a significant move to boost the railway network in south Odisha, the ministry of railways on Friday approved several key railway infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the region’s transportation networks, reducing logistical costs and driving economic growth.
According to a release by the East Coast Railways, among the major projects sanctioned is the long-demanded doubling of the Naupada-Gunupur-Theruvali Rail Line, alongside the 250-km-long Gopalpur-Rayagada New Rail Line.
These initiatives are expected to improve connectivity between previously remote regions of Odisha, ensuring smoother transportation of goods and services. The ministry has allocated Rs 9.65 crore for the final location survey of these projects, read the release.
