TPSODL presents 2025-26 revenue requirement to OERC

Bhubaneswar: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) on Thursday presented its aggregate revenue requirement (ARR) application for the fiscal year 2025-26 before the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC). The hearing, conducted in hybrid mode, was presided over by officiating chairperson Gajendra Mohapatra and member SK Ray Mohapatra.
In its proposal, TPSODL outlined a net revenue requirement of Rs 2,490.02 crore for 2025-26. The power distributor plans to procure 5,062.15 million units (MU) from Gridco and projects sales of 3,835.09 MU, marking an increase of 122.09 MU compared to the approved sales figures for 2024-25.
The company projected a distribution loss of 24.24% for 2025-26, slightly lower than the approved loss of 24.59% for the current fiscal year. In the application, it projected a deficit of Rs 280.95 crore, though TPSODL has not proposed any tariff hike to address this shortfall.
WISE, Pune, serving as the consumer counsel appointed by OERC, conducted a detailed analysis of the tariff application to protect consumer interests. The proposal drew attention from stakeholders, with 24 objectors submitting their views on TPSODL’s application.
“The commission will review both the petition and objections before passing its final order, which will take effect from April 1, 2025,” an official statement from the company reads.
