Maharashtra SET 2025: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has officially released the MH SET Notification 2025 PDF on February 20, 2025, for the 40th Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH SET). This state-level exam is conducted annually for individuals aspiring to become assistant professors in universities and colleges across Maharashtra.
The online application process for MH SET 2025 will begin on February 24, 2025, and remain open until March 13, 2025. Candidates interested in pursuing a teaching career must qualify for this exam, which is scheduled to take place on June 15, 2025 (Sunday).

SPPU, acting as the State Agency, will organize the 40th MH SET Exam to assess the eligibility of candidates for assistant professor positions in Maharashtra’s universities and colleges. Candidates interested in appearing for the exam must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying.
MH SET 2025: Eligibility
To be eligible for the MH SET Exam 2025, candidates must have completed their post-graduation in a relevant subject. Additionally, candidates who have already qualified for SET in a particular subject will not be allowed to reappear for the exam in the same subject.
MH SET 2025 exam pattern
The MH SET 2025 exam pattern includes two papers, both consisting of objective-type questions.
- Paper 1 will test the candidate’s reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. Each question will carry two marks.
- Paper 2 will consist of 100 compulsory objective-type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate, with each question carrying two marks.
No negative marking will be applied in the MH SET exam.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
To qualify for the MH SET exam, candidates must achieve the minimum required scores in both papers combined:
- General category candidates must secure at least 40% aggregate marks.
- Candidates from reserved categories must score a minimum of 35% aggregate marks.
