PG student found injured

Sambalpur: A postgraduate library science student of Sambalpur University was found injured near Golgunda chowk on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a police investigation into the incident.
Locals found Sonali Naik, a Burla resident, bleeding from injuries to her forehead in a bush near Metakani Temple around 4 pm. She was immediately rushed to Vimsar.
“We responded immediately upon receiving information and rescued her,” said Baleswar Giddhi, subdivisional police officer, Burla.
University sources said Naik had been absent from classes for the past one week. While she is able to talk, she has been unable to explain the circumstances leading to her injuries. Preliminary medical examination found no evidence of sexual assault.
The victim’s parents, who are with her in hospital, are yet to file a police complaint. “The family’s immediate priority is their daughter’s recovery,” Giddhi said.
