Mumbai: Khar police have recorded statements of seven individuals, including social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, content creator Ashish Chanchlani and YouTuber Samay Raina‘s legal representative, following a written complaint over YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia‘s alleged use of inappropriate language on Raina’s show.
On Wednesday, Mukhija presented herself at the police station for questioning regarding Allahbadia’s controversial remarks on Raina’s show India’s Got Latent.
Mukhija served as one of four judges alongside Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani and Jaspreet Singh on Raina’s show. Police have summoned all five.
A Khar police officer said, “No FIR has been registered so far. We have recorded statements of seven people till Wednesday, including technicians of the show. We will decide the further course of action after recording statements. The show was recorded in a studio based in Khar with ‘18 contents’ recorded in Nov 2024 and uploaded on Instagram two days ago by Allahbadia. Notices have been served to all as some of them are outside Mumbai.” State cyber cell has filed a suo motu FIR against the five. Guwahati police have lodged a separate FIR too. — V Narayan
