100-acres of land to be allocated for Vidarbha Global Skill University: CM Fadnavis

MUMBAI: Various industrial groups are taking shape in Vidarbha, and a large skilled workforce will be required for these industries. Considering the future employment opportunities, there was a need for a university that provides various skills to local youth. To fulfill this need, 100 acres of land will be made available for the establishment of Vidarbha Global Skill University, announced chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.
He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the three-day event organized by the Association for Industrial Development at the campus of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Present on the occasion were MP Praful Patel, MLA Chitra Wagh, MLA Charansingh Thakur, MLA Chainsukh Sancheti, former MP Vikas Mahatme, former MP Ajay Sancheti, Industries Secretary P. Anbalagan, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Director Manoj Suryavanshi, IIM Director Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, and other dignitaries.
Commending the successful organization of the MP Industrial Festival, chief minister Fadnavis expressed hope that a large number of employment opportunities would be created through various agreements. He stated that every sector in Vidarbha is progressing, and the festival has provided a platform for these sectors. He further mentioned that the comprehensive development of Vidarbha is a key objective, and efforts are underway to establish Nagpur and Amravati as magnet regions, which will lead to the development of surrounding areas. He also suggested that a conference focused on tourism should be organized in the future.
Investment of Rs 7.5 lakh crore through projects: Nitin Gadkari
The second edition of the highly successful MP Industrial Festival is attracting investments worth Rs 7.5 lakh crore in Vidarbha through various projects. Additionally, Gadchiroli district has some of the world’s best-quality iron ore deposits, which is expected to lead to the establishment of large industries in nearby districts. He also expressed satisfaction over Boeing’s ongoing work at Nagpur’s MRO and the city’s emergence as an aviation hub.
Maharashtra to lead in plug-and-play industrial zones: Piyush Goyal
Union Minister Piyush Goyal praised Nitin Gadkari’s proposal to establish a Skill University between Nagpur and Butibori. He highlighted that this year’s budget includes the decision to set up 100 plug-and-play industrial zones across the country, with Maharashtra expected to take the lead in this initiative.
The event began with an introductory speech by AID President Ashish Kale, followed by remarks from Organizing Committee President Ajay Sancheti and MP Praful Patel. A documentary based on the MP Industrial Festival was also presented. Prior to the event, goldsmiths from Vidarbha felicitated Chief Minister Fadnavis. The festival attracted around 1,25,000 visitors.
Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs):
Artificial Electronics Intelligent Materials Ltd. will invest Rs 10,000 crore in Nagpur’s semiconductor sector, creating 500 jobs. The agreement was signed on behalf of the state government by Industries Secretary P. Anbalagan.
Shrem Group of Companies will invest Rs 800 crore in the biofuel sector in Vidarbha, generating 100 jobs. This agreement was also signed by Industries Secretary P. Anbalagan.
Olectra EV Chairman K.V. Pradeep shared details about the company’s upcoming investment in Nagpur. This MoU was signed during the Davos summit.
