Navi Mumbai: A 44-year-old woman died after a suspected cardiac arrest when she went to NMMC’s Olympic-sized swimming pool in Vashi for a practice session on Friday evening.
Sanjay Dhumal, senior inspector of Vashi, said, “The deceased woman has been identified as Shreya Bhoir, a resident of Vashigaon. We registered an accidental death report. Bhoir had been receiving swimming training at NMMC’s swimming pool for the past 10 days.

On Friday around 4.30 pm, before entering the pool, she felt nauseated and breathless, after which the women staff on the pool premises attended to her. As the woman was uncomfortable, she was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where she was declared brought dead due to severe cardiac arrest, the doctors at the private hospital said.”
NMMC hospital’s medical superintendent, Dr Prashant Jawade, said, “The woman’s body was brought to NMMC hospital for a post-mortem examination. However, it has yet to be ascertained that the actual cause of her death was a cardiac arrest. Since, the civic doctor who did the post mortem has kept the opinion reserved after preserving her viscera sample, which has been sent to Kalina Forensic Laboratory for seeking a report on the actual cause of death.”
