Electricity restored in 7,891 homes in Kalyan and Bhandup circles of MSEDCL through amnesty scheme | Mumbai News – The Times of India
Mumbai: As many as 7,891 power consumers in the Kalyan and Bhandup circles, who had their electricity supply permanently disconnected due to arrears, regained their connections through the amnesty scheme introduced by MSEDCL, an official said on Friday.
A total of 13,848 power consumers from these circles participated in the scheme and paid off arrears amounting to Rs 31 crore. They received a discount of 5% to 10% on principal arrears, along with a waiver of interest and delay charges. The scheme’s deadline is the end of March, and we appeal to the remaining consumers to apply promptly online, a MSEDCL official said.
According to the scheme, low and high-tension customers (excluding public water supply and agricultural pump customers) whose electricity supply was permanently disconnected by March 2024 or earlier are eligible for the benefits. If the principal arrears are paid in a lump sum or in six equal instalments, interest and delay charges will be completely waived, the official said.
