BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court on Friday accepted a petition filed by former chief minister BS Yediyurappa challenging a case registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
The case was registered on March 14, last year, based on a complaint by the mother of a 17-year-old girl who alleged that Yediyurappa sexually assaulted her daughter during a meeting on February 2, at his residence in Dollars Colony in Bengaluru.
Justice M Nagaprasanna pronouced the verdict after hearing senior advocate CV Nagesh, who represented Yediyurappa, Prof Ravivarma Kumar, special public prosecutor in the case, and S Balan, who represented the brother of the survivor.
